An Integrative Approach
I recognize that you have a unique history that deserves to be explored and considered. Our work together will be focused on helping you achieve your personal therapeutic goals. In sessions, I make sure to review a range of factors that might be impacting you and utilize different approaches based on your specific needs.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps with processing trauma and other distressing experiences that feel “stuck” in your mind and body. EMDR utilizes bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) to further support your brain’s natural healing. Working with me, means that EMDR is collaborative and we will move through each phase based on your own comfort and clinical needs. Learn more about EMDR here.

Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I-CBT is a specialized approach for treating OCD. It focuses on how obsessional doubts start (i.e. often by confusing what could happen with what is happening). I-CBT helps you understand and untangle these doubts, while also exploring the underlying fears that keep the cycle going. Over time, the goal is to shift away from mental checking and towards trusting your senses by relying on what’s actually present. Learn more about I-CBT here.

Each one of us are composed of different parts. These parts make up who we are. At times, you may notice yourself saying phrases such as “there’s a part of me…”, highlighting a complex inner world. As we learn to understand, embrace, honor, and challenge these parts we develop a stronger sense of security and authenticity.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy
The four main aspects of DBT are mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is a tangible, skills-based modality that helps to address present difficulties you’re facing. The goal of DBT is to start making a difference in how you experience your day to day.

A client-centered, or person-centered, approach prioritizes a genuine therapeutic relationship. As a therapist, I aim to also offer unconditional positive regard and true empathy. No matter what you come to session with, I see you as a worthy human being, capable of growth. Along those same lines, if during our time together we find that there is an issue requiring additional expertise, help, or a referral I will 100% be there to guide you in finding that.
